Infineon Strengthens Sensor Portfolio with €570 Million Acquisition from ams-OSRAM

Infineon Technologies has announced the acquisition of the non-optical analog/mixed-signal sensor business from ams-OSRAM AG for €570 million. The deal, valued on a debt-free, cash-free basis, is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.

This strategic move significantly bolsters Infineon's leadership in the sensor market, enhancing its product offerings for core segments like automotive, industrial, and medical applications. The acquisition also provides a pathway into emerging fields such as humanoid robotics.

The acquired business is projected to generate approximately €230 million in revenue in 2026 and is expected to be immediately accretive to Infineon's earnings per share. Around 230 specialized employees will join Infineon's Sensor and RF business unit, and the companies have signed a multi-year supply agreement to ensure a smooth transition.

The transaction aligns with Infineon's long-term strategy to expand its sensor capabilities, following the establishment of a dedicated Sensor and RF unit within its Power & Sensor Systems division in early 2025.
